Recycling at the North Star Town Hall is funded and sponsored by the Western Lake Superior Sanitary District (WLSSD) http://wlssd.com . We want to thank WLSSD for providing a way for our citizens to recycle within our community.
Recycling at the North Star Town Hall is available:
Saturdays, 9AM – Noon (except on major national holidays, such as Christmas and New Year’s Day)

We accept the following materials for recycling:
Container Recycling: jars, bottles, and cans made from glass, plastic and metal. This includes #1-#7 plastic bottles or tubs, glass bottles and jars (any color) and metal food and beverage cans. These can all be mixed together – no additional sorting is required!
Mixed paper: cereal boxes, soda cases, office paper, junk mail, magazines, etc.
Corrugated cardboard: boxes and packaging with a ripple between two smooth layers
Newspaper: Newspapers and related materials
Film Plastic: DRY “Stretchy” plastic, such as bread bags, shrink wrap, plastic grocery carry bags, grocery vegetable bags. NO bubble wrap, non-stretchy plastic please!
PLEASE RINSE GLASS, ALUMINUM AND PLASTIC BEFORE RECYCLING.
NO GARBAGE OR REFUSE MAY BE LEFT AT THE NORTH STAR RECYCLING SHED OR TOWN HALL.

WLSSD maintains a Material Recycling Center at the intersection of Rice Lake Road, 4587 Ridgeview Road, Duluth, MN
The WLSSD Rice Lake Facility accepts many materials, including holiday lights, appliances, textiles. There is also a Re-use Area for serviceable items.
